સેન્ચ્યુરી હાર્મની (અગાઉનું નામ કાર્નિવલ ફેસિનેશન) ક્રુઝ શિપ ચાલુ મહિનાના અંતિમ સપ્તાહમાં અલંગ શિપબ્રેકિંગ યાર્ડમાં ભંગાવવા માટે આવી પહોંચશે. જોકે હજુ સુધી અલંગ ખાતેના અંતિમ ખરીદનાર નક્કી થયા નથી, પરંતુ આગામી સપ્તાહમાં બધુ ફાઇનલ થઇ જશે
સેન્ચ્યુરી હાર્મનીનું પહેલાં નામ કાર્નિવલ ફેસિનેશન હતું. આ જહાજ ફીનલેન્ડ દેશમાં વર્ષ-1994માં બનાવવામાં આવ્યુ છે. જે 261 મીટર લાંબુ, 31 મીટર પહોળુ છે. જોતા જ આ જહાજ ખૂબ વૈભવી લાગે છે.
આ સેન્ચ્યુરી હાર્મની જહાજ 10 માળનું છે. ક્રુઝ શિપમાં 2634 પેસેન્જરોનો સમાવેશ થઇ શકે છે, અને 920 ક્રુ મેમ્બરો સામેલ થઇ શકે છે. આ જહાજ 39 કિલોમિટર પ્રતિ કલાકની સ્પીડથી ચાલી શકે છે.
આ જહાજમાં એકથી એક ચડિયાતી ફેસિલીટી છે. જેમાં સ્વીમિંગ પૂલ, ડીસ્કો થેક, 4 રેસ્ટોરન્ટ, બીયર બાર, લાઇબ્રેરી, શોપિંગ માટેની દુકાનો, અદ્યતન રાચ-રચીલું પણ સામેલ છે.
અલંગ શિપબ્રેકિંગ યાર્ડમાં કોરોનાકાળથી અત્યાર સુધીમાં 12 ક્રુઝ જહાજો ભંગાઇ ચૂક્યા છે. અલંગની આજુબાજુની 11 કિ.મી.ની રીટેલ માર્કેટમાં ક્રુઝ જહાજોના સામાન વેચાણાર્થે આવી રહ્યા છે. અલંગમાં નવું ભંગાવા માટે આવી રહેલું જહાજ આકર્ષણનું કેન્દ્ર બનવાની શક્યતા છે.
અગાઉ કર્ણિકા, ગ્રાન્ડ સેલિબ્રેશન, કોલમ્બસ, મેગેલાન, ઓશન ડ્રીમ, અલ્બાસ્ટ્રોસ, માર્કોપોલો, મેટ્રોપોલીસ, સ્ટ્રે મેટ્રોપોલીસ, લીઝર વર્લ્ડ, એમ્યુઝમેન્ટ વર્લ્ડ જેવા ક્રુઝ શિપ અલંગમાં આવી ચૂક્યા છે.
સમગ્ર વિશ્વમાં કોરોના ફેલાયા બાદ ક્રુઝ ટુરિઝમ બંધ થઇ ગયુ હતુ અને જહાજના માલીકોને પોતાના જહાજ ચલાવવાનું મોંઘુ પડી રહ્યું હતુ. છેલ્લા 18 માસમાં 26 ક્રુઝ જહાજો ભંગાણાર્થે મોકલાયા છે તે પૈકી તૂર્કિમાં 11 અને અલંગમાં 11 ક્રુઝ ભંગાઇ રહ્યા છે. રો-પેક્સ શિપની સંખ્યા અલગ છે.
