વાત થઈ રહી છે બાહોશ પોલીસ અધિકારી ડીવાયએસપી મનજીતા વણઝારાની. ગુજરાત પોલીસમાં 10 વર્ષથી સેવા આપી રહેલા મનજીતા વણઝારાએ ક્યારેય સપનામાં પણ નહોતું વચાર્યું કે તેઓ એક દિવસ ખાખી વર્દી પહેરશે. તો આવો જાણીએ તમને સેક્સેસ સ્ટોરી અને તેમના લગ્નની તસવીરો…
મનજીતાએ વર્ષ 22 એપ્રિલ, 2016ના રોજ રાજેન્દ્રકુમાર સાથે લગ્ન કર્યા હતા. આઈઆઈએમ બેંગ્લોરમાંથી ઉચ્ચ ડિગ્રી લેનાર રાજેન્દ્રકુમાર વણઝારા સમાજના હોનાહાર યુવાન છે. તેઓ જર્મનીની એક મલ્ટીનેશનલ કંપનીમાં ઉચ્ચે સ્થાન પર ફરજ બજાવે છે.
મનજીતાના લગ્ન પરંપરાગતિ વિધિથી કરવામાં આવ્યા હતા. ધામધૂમપૂર્વક થયેલા આ લગ્નમાં નેતાઓથી માંડીને અધિકારીઓ તેમજ કલાકારો પણ ઉપસ્થિત રહ્યા હતા. દરેક દીકરીને જેમ પિયરમાંથી વિદાઈ લેતી વખતે મનજીતા પણ ભાવુક થઈને રડી પડ્યા હતા.
ગુજરાતમાં પોલીસના પૂર્વ આઈપીએસ અધિકારી ડી જી વણઝારાના ભત્રીજી મનજીતાને પોલીસ જોઈન કરવાની પ્રેરણા કાકા પાસેથી જ મળી છે. મનજીતાના પિતા કે.જી.વણઝારા પણ ગુજરાત સરકારમાં એડીશન સેક્રેટરી તરીકે સેવા આપી ચૂક્યા છે.
મનજીતા વણઝારાના અભ્યાસની વાત કરીએ તો તેમણે ધોરણ 12 પછી મિકેનિકલ એન્જિનિયરિંગ એડમીશન લીધું હતું. પણ તેમાં મજા ન આવતાં તેમણે ગાર્મેન્ટ પ્રોડ્કટ ટેક્નોલોજી અને ફેશન ડિઝાઈનિંગનું ભણવાનું શરૂ કર્યું હતું. આ દરમિયાન માતા-પિતાએ મનજીતાને સરકારી ક્ષેત્રમાં આવવા માટે મોટિવેટ કર્યા હતા.
મનજીતાએ પોલીસમાં આવવાનું સપનામાં પણ નહોતું વિચાર્યું. તેઓ કહે છે હું એક્સિડેન્ટલી પોલીસ ઓફિસર બની હતી. માતા-પિતાની પ્રેરણાથી એમએ-એમએડના અભ્યાસની સાથે પોલીસમાં ફોર્મ ભર્યું હતું. ફોર્મ ભરતી વખતે મનજીતાએ વિચાર્યું પણ નહોતું કે એક દિવસ હું ખાખી વર્દી પહેરીશ. પોલીસ એકેડમીમાં એડમિશન અને એક વર્ષની ટ્રેનિંગ બાદ મનજીતાને લાગ્યું હતું કે તેણે તેની જિંદગીનો બેસ્ટ ડિસિઝન લીધો છે.
વર્ષ 2013માં અમદાવાદના અસારવા વિસ્તારમાં જુગારધામ પર રેડ પાડી મનજીતા વણઝારા સૌથી પહેલાં લાઈમ લાઈટમાં આવ્યા હતા. મનજીતા વણઝારા હજી ફ્રેશ પોલીસ ઓફિસર હતા અને અમદાવાદની ક્રાઈમ હિસ્ટ્રીથી પણ અજાણ હતા પરંતુ તેમને એટલું તો સમજાઈ ગયું હતું કે કોઈ પણ ગુનેગાર પોલીસની મદદ વગર મોટો થતો નથી. મનજીતાએ કુખ્યાત કિશોર લંગડાને ત્યાં રેડ કરી 238 જુગારીઓને ઝડપી લીધા હતા.
વર્ષ 2018માં મહેસાણાના કડીના કસ્બા વિસ્તારમાં મનજીતા વણજારાએ અસંખ્ય ગુન્હામાં સંડોવાયેલા આરોપી હનીફ કાદરની ધરપકડ કરી હતી. આરોપીને કસ્બા વિસ્તારમાં લઇ જવામાં આવ્યો ત્યારે સ્થાનિક લોકોએ મનજીતાની ગાડી પર પથ્થરમારો કર્યો હતો. જેમાં તેમણે સામાન્ય ઈજા પહોંચી હતી અને કારનો કાચ તૂટ્યો હતો. જોએ આમ છતાં મનજીતાએ પાછી પાની ન કરતાં તોફાની તત્વોમાં ફડફડાટ પ્રસરી ગયો હતો. એટલું જ નહીં તેમણે સમર્થકોના ટોળા વચ્ચે આરોપીને પોલીસ વાનમાં બેસાડી દીધો હતો.
મનજીતાએ અમદાવાદમાં દારૂના અડ્ડા પર રેડ પાડીને ઝડપી પાડેલી મહિલાઓને સુધારવાનો પણ પ્રયત્ન કર્યો હતો. તેમણે અંદાજે 200 જેટલી મહિલાઓને દારૂની બદીમાંથી છોડાવી રોજગારી આપી હતી.
મનજીતા વણઝારાના મતે હિંમત એ પોલીસની પહેલી ક્વોલિટી છે. કોઈ પણ કામ નિષ્ઠા, હિંમત અને નિડરતાથી કરો.
પોલીસમાં મહિલાઓની ઓછી સંખ્યા અંગે મનજીતા જણાવ્યું હતું કે પહેલાં કરતાં સ્થિતિ હવે સુધરી છે. હવે મહિલાઓની સંખ્યા ધીમે ધીમે વધી રહી છે, મહિલાઓ માટે પોલીસ એ મોસ્ટ સિક્યોર્ટ્ડ જોબ છે.
મનજીતાનો જણાવ્યું હતું કે તેમના મોટાબાપા ડી જી વણઝારા ઈન્સ્પિરેશનનો જબરદસ્ત સોર્સ છે. તેના કારણે જ તે પોલીસમાં આવ્યા હતા. મેં તો મામલતદાર કે સેક્શન ઓફિસર બનવાનું નક્કી કર્યું હતું પણ મોટાબાપાને અમે જ્યારે જેલમાં મળવા જતાં ત્યારે તેઓ કહેતા કે તારે પોલીસમાં જ જવાનું છે. મનજીતાએ કહે છે કે જેમણે બાળપણમાં આટલી કોર્ટ કચેરી જોઈ હોય એ પોલીસમાં આવવાનું વિચારે જ નહીં અને ઈન્ડિયા છોડી ને જ જતા રહે. પણ મોટાબાપાના કારણે પોલીસ જવાની પ્રેરણા મળી હતી.
મનજીતા જીવનમાં પોતાના માતા-પિતાને આદર્શ માને છે. તેઓ જણાવે છે કે મારા માતા ઓછું ભણેલા છે. જીવનના બધા તબક્કે મહિલા તરીકે મને આગળ લાવવામાં ખૂબ ફાળો આપ્યો છે.
મનજીતા તેમની સેવાકીય પ્રવૃત્તિ માટે પણ જાણીતા છે. દિવાળી સહિતના મોટા તહેવારો પર તેઓ ગરીબોને વસ્તુઓ વેચે છે. આ સિવાય અન્ય ઘણી સેવાકીય પ્રવૃત્તિ સાથે જોડાયેલા છે.
મનજીતાને ડાન્સ અને ગરબાનો પણ શોખ છે. તેઓ ગાંધીનગરમાં નવરાત્રી ગરબાની પ્રિન્સેસ પણ બની ચૂક્યા છે.
