અમદાવાદ: નર્મદા ડેમની જળ સપાટી પહેલીવાર 131 મીટરની ઉપર પહોંચતાં ડેમના 25 દરવાજા ખોલાયા છે. ઉપરવાસમાં ભારે વરસાદના પગલે ડેમમાં પાણીની આવક થઈ છે. હાલ નર્મદા ડેમમાં 6.50 લાખ ક્યૂસેક પાણી છે. પાણીની આવક વધતા ડેમના દરવાજા ગુરુવારે મોડી રાત્રે ખોલી દેવામાં આવ્યા છે. ડેમના 25 દરવાજા 0.92 સેમી ખોલાયા છે અને 50,070 ક્યૂસેક પાણીની જાવક છે. જેને લઈને નદીકાંઠે અવર-જવર ન કરવા સૂચના આપવામાં આવી છે. ભરૂચ અને નર્મદા જિલ્લાના ગામોને એલર્ટ કરી દેવામાં આવ્યા છે.
ઉપરવાસમાં ભારે વરસાદને પગલે પાણીની આવક વધતા નર્મદા ડેમમાંથી 6 લાખ ક્યુસેક પાણી છોડવાનું નક્કી કરવામાં આવ્યું છે. જેના કારણે કાંઠા વિસ્તારોમાં હાઈ એલર્ટની સ્થિતિ સર્જાઈ છે. તકેદારીના પગલાના ભાગરૂપ 10 ઉચ્ચ અધિકારીઓને કાંઠા વિસ્તારના 42 ગામોમાં કટોકટીની સ્થિતિને પહોંચી વળવા માટે તહેનાત કરી દેવામાં આવ્યા છે. નર્મદા જિલ્લામાં કાંઠા વિસ્તારના મોટાભાગના ગામો ઊંચાઈ પર આવેલા છે. તેમ છતાં પણ પૂરતી તકેદારી રાખવામાં આવી રહી છે.
રાજ્યનાં ત્રણ જિલ્લા વડોદરા,ભરૂચ, નર્મદા જિલ્લાનાં કાંઠા વિસ્તારનાં ગામોને એલર્ટ અપાયું. વહીવટી તંત્ર દ્વારા નદીકાંઠા વિસ્તારમાં અવર જવર નહિ કરવા સૂચના આપી દેવાઈ. ઉલ્લેખનીય છે કે નર્મદા કન્ટ્રોલ ઓથોરીટીએ સરદાર સરોવર ડેમને 131 મીટર ભરવાની પરવાનગી આપી હતી. એ પછી ડેમ 131.20 મીટર સુધી ભરાય પછી જ પાણી છોડવાનો નિર્ણય લેવાયો હતો.
સરદાર સરોવર નર્મદા બંધના ઉપરવાસમાં પાણીની 5 લાખ ક્યૂસેક પાણીની આવક થઈ રહી છે અને દર કલાકે 23 સેમીનો વધારો નોંધાઈ રહ્યો છે. ત્યારે વધતી સપાટીમાં બ્રેક મારવા બે વર્ષથી બંધ રિવરબેડ પાવરહાઉસના 250 મેગાવોટના બે ટર્બાઈન શરૂ કરી દેવામાં આવ્યા છે. જ્યારે કેનલ હેડ પાવર હાઉસના 50 મેગાવોટના 2 ટર્બાઈન પણ શરૂ કરી દેવાયા છે. રિવરબેડ પાવર હાઉસનું એક ટર્બાઇન 23000 થી 25000 ક્યુસેક પાણી વાપરી નર્મદા નદીમાં છોડવામાં આવી રહ્યું છે.
