નવી દિલ્હી: રાષ્ટ્રપતિ રામનાથ કોવિંદે મિત્રનું એક સરસ ઉદાહરણ સામે આવ્યું છે. રવિવારે રાષ્ટ્રપતિ ઓરિસ્સાની ઉત્કલ યુનિવર્સિટીના ‘પ્લેટિનમ જ્યૂબિલિ સમારોહ’માં હજારી આપવા પહોંચ્યા હતાં જ્યાં દર્શકોની બહુ જ ભીડ જોવા મળી હતી. સ્ટેજ પર બિરાજમાન રાષ્ટ્રપતિ કોવિંદે આટલી ભીડમાં બેઠેલા પોતાના એક 12 વર્ષના મિત્રને જોયા જેમને મળવા માટે બોલાવ્યા હતા. જેની તસવીરો હાલ સોશિયલ મીડિયામાં વાયરલ થઈ હતી.
અંગ્રેજી અખબરના રિપોર્ટ પ્રમાણે, રાષ્ટ્રપતિ રામનાથ કોવિંદે ભીડ વચ્ચે બેઠેલા પોતાના મિત્રને પાઘડી વડે ઓળખી લીધા હતાં. ત્યાર બાદ તેમણે કેન્દ્રીય મંત્રી ધર્મેન્દ્ર પ્રધાનને આગ્રહ કર્યો હતો કે, ઈવેન્ટ પૂર્ણ થયા બાદ તે તેમના મિત્રને સ્ટેજ પર બોલાવે. જ્યારે બંને મળ્યાં તો એકબીજાને ભેટી પડ્યા હતાં. લાંબા સમય બાદ મળી રહ્યાં હોવાથી બંનેએ કેટલીક તસવીરો પણ પડાવી હતી.
રાષ્ટ્રપતિ કોવિંદના મિત્ર વીરભદ્ર સિંહ 2000થી 2006 સુધી રાજ્યસભામાં એસસી/એસટી કમિટીના સભ્ય રહી ચૂક્યા હતા. તે સમયે રાષ્ટ્રપતિ કોવિંદ પણ તેમાં મેમ્બર હતા. ઓરિસ્સાના પૂર્વ રાજ્યસભા સભ્ય વીરભદ્ર સિંહે જણાવ્યું હતું કે, તે 12 વર્ષ બાદ રાષ્ટ્રપતિને મળી રહ્યા છે પરંતુ તેમનો મળવાનો અંદાજ પહેલા જેવો જ છે. તેઓ રાષ્ટ્રપતિના વ્યવહારથી ખૂબ ખુશ હતા.
