કાબુલઃ અફઘાનિસ્તાન પર તાલિબાને કબ્જો જમાવ્યા બાદ ત્યાંની સ્થિતિ ઘણી જ ભયાવહ થઈ ગઈ છે. લોકો પોતાનો જીવ બચાવવા અહીંથી ત્યાં ભાગી રહ્યાં છે. હજારો લોકો અફઘાનિસ્તાનથી અન્ય દેશોમાં શરણ લઈ રહ્યાં છે. કાબુલમાં એક માત્ર પુજારી છે, જેણે મરવાનું પસંદ કર્યું છે. તે મંદિરની સેવા છોડીને ભાગવા તૈયાર નથી. અફઘાનિસ્તાનના અનેક નેતા તથા મંત્રીઓ પોતાનો દેશ છોડી ચૂક્યા છે અને તેમાં રાષ્ટ્રપતિ અશરફ ગની પણ છે.
અનેકવાર ફિલ્મમાં જોયું છે કે જો જહાજ ડૂબવાનું હોય ત્યારે કેપ્ટન સૌથી પહેલાં તમામ યાત્રીઓને સલામત રીતે ઉતારે છે અને પછી પોતાના વિશે વિચારે છે. પછી ભલે તે જહાજ સાથે કેમ ડૂબી ના જાય. હવે અફઘાનિસ્તાનની હાલત બધાને ખબર છે.

અફઘાનિસ્તાનમાં રતનનાથ મંદિરના પુજારી પંડિત રાજેશ કુમાર છે. તેમણે કાબુલથી બહાર જવાની ચોખ્ખી ના પાડી દીધી છે. પંડિતે કહ્યું હતું કે જીવ બચાવીને ભાગવું એના કરતાં તે પોતાના ભગવાનને સમર્પિત થવાનું પસંદ કરશે.
વધુમાં પૂજારીએ કહ્યું હતું કે હિંદુ સમુદાયના લોકોએ તેમને કાબુલ છોડીને સાથે આવવાનું કહ્યું હતું. તેમણે તમામ વ્યવસ્થા કરી રાખી હતી.
જોકે, તેના પૂર્વજો ઘણાં વર્ષો સુધી આ મંદિરની સેવા કરી હતી અને હવે તે આ છોડી શકે નહીં. જો તાલિબાનીઓ તેને મારી પણ નાખે છે તો તે તેને સેવાનો જ ભાગ ગણે છે.
