સુરત: સુરતના આંગણે પી.પી.સવાણી અને કિરણ જેમ્સના લાખાણી પરિવાર દ્વારા પિતાવિહોણી 271 પુત્રીઓના ભવ્ય લગ્નોત્સવનું આયોજન કરવામાં આવ્યું છે જેમાં પ્રથમ દિવસે 131 દીકરીઓને પિતાની છત્રછાયાનું ‘પાનેતર’ ઓઢાડીને સાસરે વળાવી હતી. પવિત્ર તાપી નદી કિનારે મોટા વરાછા-અબ્રામા સ્થિત પી.પી.સવાણી વિદ્યાસંકુલના આંગણે આ લગ્નોત્સવમાં યોજાયા હતાં.
સતત નવમાં વર્ષે પી.પી.સવાણી અને લાખાણી પરિવાર દ્વારા આયોજીત લગ્નોત્સવમાં પાંચ મુસ્લિમ સહિત 131 દિકરીઓને વિદાય સાથે સાસરે વળાવી હતી. ભારતીય લગ્ન પરંપરા અને અનોખી સંસ્કૃતિ વ્યવસ્થાના કારણે પ્રસંગ દિપી ઉઠ્યો હતો.
લગ્નોત્સવના મુખ્ય આયોજક મહેશ સવાણીએ સંબોધન કરતાં જણાવ્યું હતું કે, દીકરીઓને સાસરે વળાવવાનો પ્રસંગ છે, ત્યારે વેલાઈઓએ ને ટકોર કરી હતી કે ચા બનાવવામાં ખાંડનો ઉપયોગ મીઠાસ માટે થાય છે પરંતુ ચામાં ખાંડ નાખ્યા બાદ ઓગળે પછી તૈયાર થાય છે, ત્યારે આજે દીકરી સાસરે આવે છે. ત્યારે તેને સંપૂર્ણ રીતે સાસરીયા પક્ષમાં સેટ થતાં સમય લાગતો હોય છે. દીકરીઓ પોતાના પરિવારજનોને છોડીને સાસરે જાય છે ત્યારે ગમે તેવો ઝઘડો થાય તો મનાવી લેજો, સહનશીલતા કેળવવી, મનને મોટું રાખશો તો દુખ નહીં આવે.
પી.પી.સવાણી સંકુલના આંગણે યોજાયેલા ભવ્ય લગ્નોત્સવને સફળ બનાવવા માટે રસોડા, સ્ટેડ, મંડપ, પાર્કિગ અને ટ્રાફિક વ્યવસ્થામાં આશરે 2000 જેટલા સ્વયંસેવકો ખડે પગે હાજર રહ્યાં હતાં. રસોડામાં 50 હજાર લોકો માટે રસોઈ બનાવવામાં આવી હતી.
અબ્રામા તાપી નદી કિનારે યોજાયેલા લગ્નોત્સવના પ્રારંભમાં હાજર તમામ મહેમાનો અને વરવધુ પક્ષના સહિત હાજર લોકોએ દિવડા પ્રગટાવીને દીકરી મારી લાડકવાઈ માતા-પિતાનો અવરસનું લોકગીત ગવડાવવામાં આવ્યું હતું. ત્યારે મુખ્ય દાતા મહેશ સવાણી, તેમના પત્ની ભાવના સવાણી અને વલ્લભભાઈ લાખાણી સહિતની આંખમાં આસું આવી ગયા હતાં.
