બ્રાઝીલના ઇબિરાઈટ શહેરમાં 18 વર્ષીય યુવતીના ધામધૂમથી 29 વર્ષીય યુવક સાથે ઘરની નજીક આવેલા ફાર્મહાઉસમાં લગ્ન થયા હતા. લગ્ન બાદ બંને ઘણાં જ ખુશ હતા, પરંતુ આ ખુશી વધુ સમય ટકી શકી નહીં.
પોલીસના જણાવ્યા પ્રમાણે, લગ્નની પહેલી રાત્રે સંબંધો બાંધતી વખતે અચાનક જ યુવતીની તબિયત લથડી હતી. પતિ કંઈ સમજે તે પહેલાં જ યુવતી જમીન પર પડી ગઈ હતી. આ જોઈને પતિ મુશ્કેલીમાં મુકાઈ ગયો હતો. તેણે આસપાસના લોકને મદદ માટે ફોન કર્યો હતો.
પત્નીને હોસ્પિટલ લઈ જવા માટે પતિએ ટેક્સી બોલાવી હતી. જોકે, એક નહીં પણ બે બે ટેક્સી ડ્રાઈવરે હોસ્પિટલ લઈ જવાની ના પાડી દીધી હતી. અંતે પતિએ ઇમરજન્સી મેડિકલ હેલ્પ માટે ફોન કર્યો હતો.
પતિના ફોન બાદ પેરામેડિકલ સ્ટાફ ઘરે આવ્યો હતો અને તે સમયે પત્નીના શ્વાસ ચાલતા હતા. સ્ટાફે હાર્ટ અટેક આવ્યો હોવાનું કહ્યું હતું. તાત્કાલિક એમ્બ્યુલન્સ બોલાવવામાં આવી હતી, પરંતુ રસ્તામાં જ મોત થઈ ગયું હતું. પતિનો દાવો છે કે એમ્બ્યુલન્સ એક કલાક મોડી આવી હતી અને તેને કારણે પત્નીનું અવસાન થયું. જોકે, ઇમરજન્સી હેલ્પ ડેસ્કે કહ્યું હતું કે પહેલી એબ્યુલન્સ કેન્સલ થઈ ગઈ હતી અને બીજી 21 મિનિટની અંદર આવી ગઈ હતી. પોસ્ટમોર્ટમ રિપોર્ટમાં મહિલાને બ્રોન્કાઈટિસ હોવાનું સામે આવ્યું હતું. પોલીસે કહ્યું હતું કે દુલ્હનના શરીર પર કોઈ હિંસા કે ઈજાના નિશાન નહોતી. તેનું મોત આકસ્મિક રીતે થયું હતું.
પડોશીઓએ કહ્યું હતું કે તે મહિલાએ મરતા પહેલાં કોઈ જાતની બૂમાબૂમ કરી નહોતી. પતિએ દુઃખી સ્વરે કહ્યું હતું કે તેને ખ્યાલ નહોતો કે તેની પત્ની આ રીતે તેને છોડીને જતી રહેશે.
