સુરતઃ ગુજરાતમાં વરસાદી સિઝનની શરૂઆત થઈ ગઈ છે. ત્યારે વીજકરંટ લાગવાના કિસ્સાઓ પણ સામે આવી રહ્યા છે. સુરતમાં શુક્રવારે વીજપોલને અડતાં વીજ કરંટ લાગવાથી એક યુવતી મોતને ભેટી હતી.
સમગ્ર ઘટના બાદ સ્થાનિકો દ્વારા હોબાળો મચાવતા જીઈબીના કર્મચારીઓ ઘટના સ્થળે દોડી આવીને કામગીરી હાથ ધરી હતી. યુવતીને કરંટ લાગવાની ઘટના નજીક લગાવેલા સીસીટીવી કેમેરામાં કેદ થઈ ગઈ હતી. પોલીસે ઘટનાની ગંભીરતાને લઈને જીઇબી સામે ફરિયાદ નોંધી છે.
સુરતના પુણાના નર્વેદન સાગર સોસાયટી પાસે 20 વર્ષીય યુવતી પસાર થઈ રહી હતી ત્યારે યુવતીએ રસ્તા પાસે આવેલા વીજ થાંભલાને પકડતાં જ તેને કરંટ લાગ્યો હતો. જેના કારણે તેનું ઘટનાસ્થળે જ મોત નીપજ્યું હતું. પાસેથી પસાર થતી અન્ય યુવતીએ બુમો પાડતાં સ્થાનિક લોકોના ટોળાં ભેગા થઈ ગયાં હતાં.
જીઈબીની બેદરકારીના કારણે યુવતીએ જીવ ગુમાવાની ઘટનાથી સ્થાનિક લોકોમાં ભારે રોષ જોવા મળ્યો હતો અને જેના પગલે જીઈબીની ટીમ ઘટના સ્થળે દોડી આવીને કામગીરી હાથ ધરી હતી. યુવતીના મોતની ઘટના સીસીટીવી કેમેરામાં કેદ થઇ હતી.
