અસમના સોનિતપુર જિલ્લામાં એક 19 વર્ષની છોકરીને દુપટ્ટો લપેટીને એક્ઝામ આપવી પડી હતી. આ ઘટના તેજપુરના ગિરિજાનંદ ચૌધરી ઇન્સ્ટિટ્યૂટ ઓફ મેનેજમેન્ટ એન્ડ ટેક્નોલોજીની છે. અહીં ગત 15 સપ્ટેમ્બરે અસમ એગ્રીકલ્ચર યૂનિવર્સિટીની પરીક્ષા હતી. આ દરમિયાન છોકરી કોલેજમાં શૉટ્સ પહેરીને આવી હતી. જ્યારે કૉલેજના અધિકારીઓએ આ જોયું તો તેમણે વાંધો ઉઠાવ્યો હતો.
19 વર્ષની જુબલી તમુલી પરીક્ષા આપવા માટે તેના પિતા સાથે વિશ્વનાથ ચરિયાલીથી તેજપુર આવી હતી. જુબલીએ મીડિયા સાથે વાત કરતાં જણાવ્યું કે, જ્યારે તે આ પરીક્ષા સેન્ટરની અંદર પહોંચી તો તેને કોઈ મુશ્કેલી થઈ નહોતી. પણ જ્યારે પરીક્ષાખંડમાં પહોંચી તો ત્યાં હાજર લોકોએ તેને ટોકવાનું શરૂ કરી દીધું હતું.
જુબલીએ જણાવ્યું કે, અધિકારીઓએ પહેલાં મારું ચેકિંગ કર્યું હતું. આ પછી પરીક્ષાખંડમાં જવા દીધી હતી. પણ જ્યારે હું પરીક્ષાખંડના હોલ તરફ જવા લાગી તો પરીક્ષા નિરીક્ષકે મને રોકી લીધી હતી. મારી પાસે એડમિટ કાર્ડ, આધાર કાર્ડ, ઝેરોક્ષ સહિતના દરેક ડોક્યુમેન્ટ્સ હતાં. પણ તેમણે મારા ડોક્યુમેન્ટ્સની તપાસ કરી નહોતી.
જુબલીએ કહ્યું કે, ‘ત્યાં હાજર નિરીક્ષકે કહ્યું કે, ટૂંકા કપડા પહેરવાની મંજૂરી નથી. મેં પૂછ્યું કેમ? છોકરીએ એમ પણ પૂછ્યું કે, કપડાં માટે એડમિટ કાર્ડ પર કોઈ સૂચના નથી. ત્યારે મને કેવી રીતે ખબર પડે. ત્યાં હાજર અધિકારીઓએ કહ્યું કે, છોકરી તેના પિતા સાથે વાત કરે.’
આ પછી પિતાએ ત્યાં હાજર અધિકારીઓને વાત કરી. પણ કોઈએ તેમની વાત સાંભળી નહીં. આ પછી છોકરીના પિતા કપડાં ખરીદવા માટે બજારમાં ગયા હતાં. અહીં જુબલી રાહ જોઈ રહી હતી. આ દરમિયાન બીજી છોકરીઓએ પાસે આવી અને તેમના પગમાં ચારેય તરફ એક દુપટ્ટો લપેટી દીધો. આ પછી જુબલીએ પરીક્ષા આપી હતી.
