મુખ્યમંત્રી પદ છોડ્યા બાદ વિજય રૂપાણી ગઈકાલે હોમટાઉન રાજકોટ પહોંચ્યા હતા. અહીં કાર્યકરો દ્વારા રૂપાણીનું ઉમળકાભેર સ્વાગત કરવામાં આવ્યું હતું. વિજય રૂપાણીને મળતાં જ ઘણા લોકો ભાવુક થઈને રડી પડ્યા હતા. રાજકોટમાં આગમાનના બીજા દિવસે પણ સંવાદ બેઠક નામના કાર્યક્રમમાં કાર્યકરોને સંબોધન કર્યું હતું. જેમાં કાર્યકરોની આંખો ભીની થઈ ગઈ હતી.
વિજય રૂપાણી અને અંજલીબેન રૂપાણી ગુરૂવાર સાંજે હોમટાઉન રાજકોટ પહોંચ્યા હતા. ખૂબ જ લોકચાહના ધરાવનાર રૂપાણીના સ્વાગત માટે બહોળી સંખ્યામાં કાર્યકરો અને આગેવાનો ઉપસ્થિત રહ્યા હતા. લોકોનો પ્રેમ જોઈને વિજય રૂપાણીએ સૌનું અભિવાદન ઝીલ્યું હતું. આ સમયે લાગણીસભર દશ્યો સર્જાયા હતા. અમુક લોકો તો ચોંધાર આસુંએ રડી પડ્યા હતા. આ તકે વિજય રૂપાણી અને અંજલીબેને લોકોનો સાંત્વના પાઠવ હતી.
બીજા દિવસે શુક્રવારે રાજકોટમાં સંવાદ બેઠક નામનો કાર્યક્રમ યોજાયો હતો. જેમાં મોટી સંખ્યામાં કાર્યકરો ઉપસ્થિત રહ્યા હતા. આ બેઠકને જ્યારે વિજય રૂપાણી સંબોધન કરવા ઉભા થયા તો મહિલા કાર્યકરો ભાવુક થઈને રડી પડ્યા હતા.
આ પ્રસંગે વિજય રૂપાણીએ જણાવ્યું હતું કે, મેં ઘડીના છઠ્ઠા ભાગમાં રાજીનામું આપી દીધું છે, આ રાજકોટનો કાર્યકર્તા જ કરી શકે છે. બાકી છોડવું અઘરૂ છે ભાઇ… ખાલી એક સરપંચનું તો રાજીનામું માગી જુઓ.
વિજય રૂપાણીએ વધુમાં જણાવ્યું હતું કે, હું CM હતો અને રહેવાનો છું. CM એટલે કોમન મેન, તમારામાંનો જ એક કાર્યકર્તા. કાર્યકર્તા તરીકે પાર્ટી જે જવાબદારી સોંપે તે કરવાનું હોય છે. તેમાં કદ કે પદ મહત્વનું નથી. નવી સરાકર આપણી જ સરકાર છે. રાજકોટના વિકાસના કામ અટકશે નહીં, હજુ પણ રાજકોટના અનેક વિકાસ કામો થવાના છે.
વિજય રૂપાણીએ કહ્યું કે ભાજપ પંચનિષ્ઠાથી કામ કરતી પાર્ટી છે બીજી પાર્ટીઓથી અલગ છે પાર્ટીના કાર્યકર્તાઓ ભારત માતા કી જયના સુત્રોને સાર્થક કરવા માટે સતત સક્રિય રહે છે, ભાજપની રાજનીતિ સતા મેળવવા, ચૂંટણી જીતવાની નથી પરંતુ મૂલ્યનિષ્ઠ રાજનીતિ અને મૂલ્ય આધારીત રાજકારણ સ્થાપિત કરતી પાર્ટી છે જીવશું તો પણ દેશ માટે અને મરીશુ તો પણ દેશ માટે આવા અતૂટ રાષ્ટ્રવાદ સાથેની ભાવનાથી કાર્યકર્તાઓ સમર્પિત છે, વ્યકિત સે બડા દલ ઔર દલ સે બડા દેશ આ સુત્રોમાં માનનારી પાર્ટી છે.
વિજય રૂપાણીએ વધુમાં કહ્યું કે આ લોકશાહીને વરેલી પાર્ટી છે, સત્તાને સેવાનું સાધન માની ચાલનારી પાર્ટી છે. જનસંઘથી લઇ આજ સુધી અનેક કાર્યકર્તાઓએ કયાંક તપશ્ર્ચર્યાથી આ પાર્ટી મોટી બની છે, દરેક દિશામાં ફેલાઇ છે અનેક કાર્યકરને કંઇ મળ્યું નથી.
કયારે કોઇ પદ પર આવ્યા નથી. છતાં આ કાર્યકર્તાઓ ભારત માતા કી જય અને વંદે માતરમના નારા સાથે નિષ્ઠાપૂર્વક પાર્ટીમાં કામ કરી રહ્યા છે.
