સામાન્ય રીતે આપણે ત્યાં સંતાન પ્રાપ્તિ માટે બાળકને સાકર કે પેંડા કે ચાંદી ભારોભાર જોખવાની માનતાઓ લેવાતી હોય છે. ત્યારે હળવદના ગૌ પ્રેમીએ પોતાની વ્હાલસોયી ગર્ભવતી ગાય બિમાર પડી જતાં અનોખી માનતાં માની હતી. તેમણે ગાયને હેમખેમ પ્રસુતિ થઈ જાય તો આવનારા વાછરડા-વાછરડીને પેંડા ભારોભાર જોખવાની માનતા રાખી હતી. જેમાં તંદુરસ્ત વાછરડીનો જન્મ થતા આ ગૌભક્તે તેને 30 કિલોગ્રામ વજનના પેંડા સાથે ભારોભાર જોખી માનતા પૂરી કરી હતી.
હળવદ તાલુકાના અમરાપર ગામે રહેતા ધર્મેન્દ્રભાઈ કરશનભાઇ ચાવડા ગૌભક્ત છે અને ઘણા સમયથી તેમને ગાય પાળેલી છે. તાજેતરમાં તેમની વહાલસોયી પ્રસૂતા ગાય બીમાર પડી જતા પ્રકાશભાઈએ ગૌમાતાને હેમખેમ પ્રસુતિ થઈ જાય તે માટે ગામમાં જ આવેલા તેમના કુળદેવી ચામુંડા માતાજીના મંદિરે આવનારા વાછરડી કે વાછરડાને પેંડા ભારોભાર જોખવાની બાધા રાખી હતી.
જોગાનુજોગ ધર્મેન્દ્રભાઈ ચાવડાની વહાલી ગાયે સુંદર મજાની વાછરડીને જન્મ આપ્યો હતો. તેમજ ગાય માતા અને વાછરડી બંન્ને સ્વસ્થ હોવાથી તેમણે કુળદેવી માતાના મંદિરે વાછરડીને ગામ લોકોની હાજરી વચ્ચે પેંડાથી જોખતા, બાધામાં 30 કિલોગ્રામ પેંડા ઉપયોગમાં લેવામાં આવ્યા હતા.
નોંધનીય છે કે, ધર્મેન્દ્રભાઈએ વાછરડી માટે સ્પેશિયલ પેંડા બનાવડાવ્યા હતા અને માનતા પૂર્ણ થયે તમામ પેંડા ગ્રામજનોને પ્રસાદરૂપે વિતરણ કર્યા હતા.
