જોકે શોધઘોળના અંતે જે વાત સામે આવી હતી તેનાથી બંને યુવતીના પરિવાર પર વ્રજ્જઘાત થયો હતો. સ્નેહલ અને જયશ્રી નામની આ સહેલીઓએ હારીજના ભલાણા ગામની સીમમાંથી પસાર થતી નર્મદા કેનાલમાં મોતની છલાંગ લગાવી દીધી હતી અને બંને બહેનપણીઓ આખરે મોતને ભેટી હતી.
