સુરતઃ ગુજરાત સરકાર દ્વારા મુંબઈની એસએસઆર કંપનીને આપવામાં આવેલી પરવાનગીને પગલે શુક્રવારે સુરતથી મુંબઈ (બ્રાંદ્રા-વર્લી સી લિંક) સુધીની ક્રૂઝ સેવાની શરૂ કરવામાં આવી છે. એસ્સાર જેટીથી આ ક્રૂઝને ફ્લેગ ઓફ કરવામાં આવ્યું હતું. આ સમયે એસ્સાર કંપનીના અધિકારીઓ પણ હાજર રહ્યાં હતાં.
એસ્સાર પોર્ટના સીઈઓ રાજીવ અગ્રવાલે જણાવ્યું હતું કે, સુરત-મુંબઈ વચ્ચે ‘મુંબઈ મેઈડન’ નામની ક્રૂઝ સેવાનો શરૂઆતના ધોરણે અઠવાડિયામાં એક વખત ચાલશે. ફેરી સર્વિસ દર ગુરૂવારે બાંદ્રા-વર્લી સી લિંકથી સાંજે 5 વાગ્યે નીકળશે અને શુક્રવારે સવારે 9 વાગ્યે હજીરા જેટી પહોંચશે. જે ફરી મુંબઈ જવા શુક્રવારે સાંજે 5 વાગ્યે રવના થશે અને શનિવારે સવારે 9 વાગ્યે પહોંચાડશે.

હાલ 200 વ્યક્તિઓની ક્ષમતાવાળી ક્રૂઝનું ભાડું 3થી 5 હજારની વચ્ચે હોય તેવું સુત્રો દ્વારા જાણવા મળ્યું હતું. મુંબઈથી આવી ચૂકેલા આ ક્રૂઝને હજીરા એસ્સાર જેટી ખાતેથી ફ્લેગ ઓફ કરવામાં આવ્યું હતું.
