લખનઉઃ વૃક્ષો બચાવવા માટે પર્યાવરણ પ્રેમીઓ અનેક પ્રકારના આંદોલનો કરે છે. કોઈ ચિપકો આંદોલન કરે છે તો કોઈ વૃક્ષારોપણ કરે છે. જોકે, યુપીના ગોંડામાં રહેતા પરાગદત્ત મિશ્રે એક એવો ઉપાય અજમાવ્યો કે હવે ઝાડ કપાવવાના ઓછા થઈ ગયા અને એક હજારથી વધુ ઝાડ બચાવ્યા છે.
વજીરગંજના વિકાસખંડના નગવા ગ્રામ પંચાયતના પ્રધાન પરાગદત્તે પોતાના નવતર ઉપાય અંગે કહ્યું હતું કે વિકાસ તથા રસ્તા નિર્માણના નામ પર દરેક જગ્યાએ ઝાડ કાપી નાખવામાં આવે છે. ગામના લોકોને જળવાયુ પરિવર્તન અંગે સમજ નથી. આથી જ દેવી દેવતાઓની મદદ લેવામાં આવી છે. ઝાડ પર હિંદુ દેવી-દેવતાના ચિત્રો દોરી દેવાથી તેમને ભગવાનનો ડર લાગે છે અને તેઓ ઝાડ કાપતા નથી.
પરાગદત્તે આગળ કહ્યું હતું, દેવી-દેવતાઓએ ઝાડને નવું જીવન આપ્યું છે. સિંદૂરથી તેઓ દેવી-દેવતાઓનું ચિત્ર દોરે છે. પછી ગામના લોકો આ ઝાડની પૂજા કરવા લાગે છે. તેઓ હંમેશા પોતાની કારની ડેકીમાં સિંદૂર, પેઈન્ટ તથા પીંછી રાખે છે. તેઓ હનુમાનજીનું ચિત્ર દોરે છે અને તેના પર સિંદૂર લગાવી દે છે. એક ઝાડ પર ચિત્ર બનાવવાનો ખર્ચ 200 રૂપિયા આવે છે. જોકે, તેઓ જાતે જ ખર્ચ ભોગવે છે.
પરાગદત્ત મિશ્રે આગળ કહ્યું હતું, નગવામાં સતત ઝાડો કપાઈ રહ્યા છે અને જંગલ નષ્ટ થવાની તૈયારીમાં છે. જો તેમણે આ જુગાડ ના કર્યા હોય તો આજે થોડું પણ જંગલ રહ્યું ના હોત. ગઈ વખતે તેમણે જેટલાં પણ છોડ ઉગાડ્યા હતાં, તે તમામ નષ્ટ થઈ ગયા છે અને ભારે નુકસાન થયું છે. દેવી-દેવતાની મદદ લેવાથ હવે ઝાડ કાપવાનું પ્રમાણ ઘટ્યું છે. આઠ હજારની વસ્તુ ધરાવતા આ ગામમાં હવે સારી એવી હરિયાળી છે. ઘરની આસપાસ છોડ-ઝાડ હોવાથી વાતાવરણ શુદ્ધ રહે છે. ગામમાં 10 હજાર ઝાડ છે.
પાંચ જૂને દર વર્ષે ગામમાં મેળો ભરાય છે. જેમાં નાના બાળકથી લઈ વૃદ્ધો ઝાડની રક્ષા કરવાની પ્રતિજ્ઞા લે છે. ગામના ઉમેશ વર્માએ કહ્યું હતું, પ્રધાન પરાગદત્તને કારણે માત્ર આ જ ગામમાં નહીં આસપાસના ગામમાં પણ લોકો ઝાડ બચાવી રહ્યાં છે. પરાગદત્ત નિયમિત રીતે વિદ્યાર્થીઓ, શિક્ષકો તથા ગામના લોકો સાથે પર્યાવરણને લઈ ચર્ચા કરે છે. તેઓ છેલ્લાં 10 વર્ષથી પર્યાવરણ પ્રદર્શન કરીને લોકોમાં જાગૃત્તિ લાવે છે. આનો તમામ ખર્ચ તે ભોગવે છે.
